The Kilifi Gold Triathlon (KGT) has been one of Kilifi\u2019s most anticipated events since 2003. After a long two years of the event not happening, the most beautiful triathlon in Africa has made its comeback and we couldn\u2019t be more excited about it! The event will be held on Mnarani Beach and we are very proud to be the hosting venue for this much-anticipated occasion.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s Happening and When.<\/h3>\n

This year, the Triathlon is taking place on the 17th of September at 14:30. The event will entail a 750m swim, 20km bike, and 5km run. Entry for individual competitors is KES 4 500 pp, and KES 6,000 for those who are in a team of two or three individuals (one swimmer, one cyclist, one runner). Registrations for competitors opened on the 8th of August and will remain open until all places are filled so if you\u2019re interested in competing, hurry before they fill up! You can register yourself or your team on the Kilifi Gold Triathlon<\/a> website and find out more details regarding the order of the day.<\/p>\n

For those who will be cheering on the side-lines, spectator entry is free and there will be a live DJ, lots of food and drinks vendors, and fun activities for the kids throughout the day. In addition, a few giveaways will be taking place. Be sure to secure your spot and bring your best cheering skills along for a day of fun-in-the-sun.<\/p>\n

Fun Times and Good Deeds.<\/h3>\n

The Kilifi Triathlon is about having fun but also making a positive impact on the community. This year\u2019s KGT will be in support of the Taylor Ashe Antivenom Foundation. The foundation aims to reduce the number of deaths and maiming caused by snake bites through education and awareness in the Kilifi community. They also train doctors to administer treatment and assist with the responsible relocation of harmful snakes from populated areas.<\/p>\n

The largest donation made from Kilifi Gold Triathlon registrations will be donated to the foundation and will help to ensure that more lives and livelihoods are not lost due to what the foundation has dubbed as \u201cthe forgotten menace\u201d.<\/p>\n
